Sam Westhead, Andy Pink, Chris Marriott, John Whittingham and Marc Terry make up Brothers Of Mine. With only two tracks released the five have already earned themselves a dedicated following and support from BBC Introducing in Merseyside. The later of their two tracks, First Time was recently released and launched with a show at The Zanzibar.
First Time displays a clear mix of folk/rock influences from the off. Sounding a little like a heavier Mumford and Sons, minus the banjo, it has an upbeat but emotional feel throughout. Brothers Of Mine have the foundations of a band with the potential to send crowds wild, with a little more energy and impact in their sound they’d be certain ones to watch; but for now First Time is simple, pleasant listening.
