Grafted - Sergei
Grafted are a Basingstoke band packing a punch with their edgy but lovable single ‘Sergei’. The four-piece, formerly a cover band, have played for BBC Introducing as well as a headline tour.
The track begins with a building drama as the riff develops into its happy but rocky, distinctive glory. Frontwoman Daisy Freya’s soaring vocals bounce off the guitar melody with a kind of grace and distinction you might not expect in an indie-rock track. Combined with the energetic and powerful backing of her bandmates, it’s a bold and youthful lose-yourself track executed with a sophistication beyond the band’s years.
