Liverpool based indie garage rock band Skinner's Lane are definitely going places and it is looking like 2018 is going to be their year considering their constantly growing fan base. They have recently released their first ever single Dear Brighton (which if I remember correctly from seeing them perform live last year at Buyers Club in Liverpool, has nothing to do with the place).
From the get go Dear Brighton hooked me in with its catchy guitar riffs, basically forcing me to bop my head and tap my feet. The punk rock and indie rock influences were clear straight away as the track was instantly reminiscent of the sounds of The Clash but with elements of early Arctic Monkeys and Black Keys while still conveying an original and complex sound. The energy was never lost throughout the track and the cross contamination of indie and punk genres was electrifying and inspiring. Even after the first listen of this song it was clear that I was going to have it in my head for the next week.
