Growing up on a remote Scottish peninsula, Martha Hill began her journey by moving out at 17 and exploring Europe with a view to pursuing music. Since then she has settled in Newcastle to embrace the local scene; toured the UK with the likes of Holy Moly & The Crackers and Let’s Eat Grandma; and gained attention from BBC Introducing.
Her debut single Spiders is a bold and quirky step into the alternative pop scene. Crisp vocals are beautifully placed over a groovy pop-rhythm and progressively building guitars. The lyrics are inventive, youthful and meaningful. No section of the track is quite the same, with tight harmonies dipping in and out showcasing Martha’s raw but gorgeous vocals that accentuate the chill vibes of the song as it comes together.
Martha Hill will be making several UK festival appearances over the summer and will no doubt continue making more magical music like Spiders.
