Stray Monroe - Seaside
Formed back in 2016, San Diego indie rockers Stray Monroe have played shows alongside the likes of The Academic and Weathers, and featured in Spotify’s “Fresh Finds” playlist; as well as gathering countless radio plays in the US. Aiming to “push the boundaries of popular music and leave a positive impact on everyone who listens”, the trio have now shared their new single Seaside.
Released alongside a VHS filmed video, Seaside is an upbeat, feel good tune oozing with influence from The Strokes and Mac Demarco. Driven by an addictive groove, Stray Monroe’s sound is a smooth blend of post-punk and indie pop. Blake Imperl’s deep vocals are a neat contrast against the track’s cheery drum beat. Topped off with a good dose of jangly guitar and Seaside is a delightful summer feel-good track from a band who should easily make a name for themselves in the UK.
