West Yorkshire’s finest new indie popper Alex Tracey has today released his eagerly awaited new single Take Me To The Other Side. Following a successful 2018, which included support slots with Fickle Friends, Saint Raymond and Only The Poets, a performance for the ‘@London’ Instagram page and building support from BBC Introducing, 2019 is set to be a huge year for Alex.
Recorded at Liverpool’s Parr Street Studios, Take Me To The Other Side offers a glimpse of the heavier, guitar-driven sound which those who have caught live will have already come to love; yet remains as upbeat and infectious as the earlier releases.
Speaking about the single, Alex says “Take Me to The Other Side’ is my most honest record yet. My previous releases have very much conformed to the typical talking points of love, relationships and heartbreak. ’Take Me…’ takes advantage of my tendency to lean on lyrical stereotypes by writing about wanting to be free from a toxic relationship, but this time with my own depression.”
