Introducing a breath of fresh air is the colourful Malory’s latest release Blue Umbrella. The track is taken from her debut album Cornucopia due for release on 1st March. After supporting artists such as the great George Ezra, she’s now working towards a headline show at London’s Borderline.
First thing about the track, it was actually an experimental, instrumental composition to begin with. Once in the studio, Malory and her producer Danny George, spotted a blue umbrella. Connecting the dots on the umbrella became completing the puzzle of the track. Lyrically taking us through a subject of letting go and social anxiety, the arrangement is dark, laying a beautiful imagery throughout. Malory fits into a glittery category and is known for being colourful. Hearing this song just proves that there’s always two sides to a person. It’s great to hear versatility in her work.
