A first glimpse into their upcoming EP, new single ‘Another One’ from Scottish four piece, Declan Welsh & the Decadent West is a luxurious and languorous insight into what they have in store.

With rapturous acclaim from their 2019 debut album ‘Cheaply Bought, Expensively Sold’, already under their belt, this band have taken the elements that were so well received before, and repackaged them in a way that showcases the band’s ever growing potential.

More stripped back than their usual riff soaked stylings, ‘Another One’ takes on a more new wave lilt, leaning into Welsh’s intriguing lyricism as its driving force. Lyrically reminiscing upon a year where longer periods of self reflection were born of isolation for everyone, Welsh’s knack for poetry is clear.

An exultant build to the songs’ conclusion conjures a feeling of hopefulness, and it is clear it is very much intended. The longing for “when someone buys a round” is a feeling we have all felt in this past year of chaos, and now that is it sooner rather than later, this track is more apt than ever.
