Setting themselves up for a triumphant 2021, Leeds ones to watch Eades have announced their signing with legendary Manchester based label Heist or Hit; joining a force of alt-pop stars in the making including Pizzagirl, SKIA and JWestern. And what better way is there to celebrate than dropping a riotous punk-infused hit?
‘Former Warnings Cluster’ is Eades at their most confident; buzzing with youthful energy and ready to make their mark. While the quintet’s 2020 releases jumped between dream pop and garage rock, it’s here in their hectic, high-paced fuzziness that we get to hear their true potential.
“Former Warnings Cluster is probably our most ambitious recording yet. We’ve always felt we didn’t match our live sound, so we decided to shake up the process. It was recorded live in my basement, with vocals and a few overdubs added later. This allowed us to be a lot more free with the performance, speeding up and slowing down to take the song on a bit of a journey. It was also the first time we’ve ever recorded to tape, which added a load of other hurdles to overcome, but I think the final product is a lot more true to who we are as a band moving forward.” Tells the band’s Harry Jordan.
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, Eades’ sound possesses a sense of genuine excitement, and with the Heist or Hit team behind them it’s only a matter of time before their true potential is acknowledged.
