Winchester trio Flyte have had the bar set high since 2014. Never failing to impress, the band’s forthcoming second album is set to become their finest work to date.
“It (Easy Tiger) certainly is a good indicator of what’s to come: a break up album! But musically it’s so varied, I’d say there are plenty of surprises in there. Every song has a very distinct personality.” frontman Will Taylor told us back in June. Today they share the second single to be taken from it, Losing You, released alongside their second collaboration with BAFTA winning director Mark Jenkin.
Break up songs can so easily become cliche, but for Flyte it seems almost impossible to create something which isn’t breathtakingly beautiful. “I don’t think I’ll get used to losing you” lulls Taylor as Losing You floods the senses with lustrous harmonies, delicate guitar lines and a luscious, rich melody capable of soothing even the sorest of minds.
There’s a lot to be said for Flyte, but to put it simply there just isn’t another band crafting heartbreak fuelled music in anywhere near as graceful and heart warming fashion as they do. Their forthcoming album promises a beauty and warmth which all of us are deeply in need of right now, and it’s time for the world to learn what an incredible band they have become.
