Packing 90’s pop nostalgia by the bucket load, Manchester indie-pop outfit Foxglove have kicked off their year with new single ‘Give It Up’.
Taking influence from everyone from The La’s and Blur to The 1975 and Katy Perry, ‘Give It Up’ provides a fond sense of familiarity. Indie-rock guitar lines met with Abi White’s 00’s pop style vocals make for euphoric listening, displaying a strong growth in Foxglove’s musical output.
Speaking on the track, Abi explains: “When we play this song live, it’s a vulnerable and emotive ballad that seems to stop people in their tracks. We really wanted to encapsulate this within the recording and weave in the nostalgia from the times we were all growing up in the late 90’s/ early 00’s. I remember singing Avril Lavigne songs in my bedroom, and I feel this song is a nod towards growing up and my childhood’”
