Having graced stages alongside the likes of DIIV and Swervedriver, LA rock outfit Milly are setting their sights on the UK with their forthcoming EP, ‘Wish Goes On’ due April 9th via Dangerbird Records.
The band, formed of Brendan Dyer, Spencer Light, Yarden Erez and Zach Capitti Fenton have just dropped lead single, ‘Denial’ - and in celebration we fired ‘em some questions to find out what Milly is all about.
Tell us a bit about yourself and how long you’ve been making music for?
I started playing guitar at 10 and started songwriting at 14. (I'm 24 now)
At what point in your life did you decide to make a career out of your music, and what influenced that decision?
I just always knew music was what I wanted to do with my life once I started making it. Nothing else interests me really.
What is the main source of influence for your songwriting?
My relationship with the world and people around me.
Is there anything you’ve learned about yourself through making music?
There are so many ways you can express your feelings other than just words.
What is something you wish you’d known when you first got into the music industry?
How to play piano.
Who are some of your favourite upcoming artists from LA?
Draag, Alms, Soft Blue Shimmer
What would your dream tour & rider look like?
It would be cool to somehow play with Sunny Day Real Estate or Hum. Rider needs Bombay Gin and lots of it.
If your music was to soundtrack any film or TV show, which would you choose?
Step Brothers (2008)
What’s the bucket list goal for you as an artist?
Tour the UK :)
