Fun, upbeat and exactly what it says on the tin, James Humphrys has unveiled Colour, the first release from his forthcoming EP, and a joyful take on a summer bop.
With textural layers and memorable lyrics, this tune is a hopeful ode to friendships and the complexities that lie within those relationships. Blending the boundaries of genre, in this track Humphrys has created a spin on the good old indie pop classic. Picking up signature jazz and funk tropes, their use in this latest release makes way for a much more interesting and catchy song, with depths that are not always an easy feat.
With his second EP Memory Palace dropping in July, Humphrys has succeeded in keeping our appetites whet, and is definitely an artist to keep an eye out for post lockdown.
