Liverpool Sound City Announce First Names for 2021

Liverpool - the home of The Beatles, Cilla Black and of course, the iconic Sound City. Despite a turbulent past year for the music industry due to COVID, Sound City have announced their first lineup for 2021, dazzling with great upcoming artists. The festival is aiming to light up the streets of Liverpool once more from 30th April til 2nd of May.

The lineup announced is undoubtedly brimming with divine new artists ranging from the iconic indie rap artist Rejjie Snow to the jagged and hard-hitting The Mysterines; offering something for everyone.

The remarkable weekender will also be gracing music from Scottish sensations The Snuts, their catchy and anthemic releases are definite crowd-pleasers. Sound City is unquestionably coming back with a bang and with arguably their biggest lineup yet. Also promising raucous live shows across the weekend are the likes of Working Mens Club, The Lathums and Red Rum Club.

Sound City is quintessentially known for its gender-balanced lineups- a rare yet important trait. The festival itself is the lead UK festival partner for Keychange, (a global movement focused on the restructuring of the music industry to achieve gender equality.) which is reflected in the acts that have been announced, with the first line-up release featuring a 50% representation of female and non-binary acts.

Managing director Rebecca Ayres excitedly displays her hope for the upcoming festival. “It brings me great joy to announce the first names and details for Sound City 2021. In an incredibly tough year for all of us in the music and events industry, it’s now more important than ever to support live music and new exciting music - something we’ve to lead the way on for nearly 14 years. 2021 looks set to be our biggest Sound City to date, with incredible names like Rejjie Snow, Working Men’s Club and The Murder Capital, as well as unmissable local talent in Red Rum Club, The Mysterines, Louis Berry and Jamie Webster to name but a few, with more still to announce. 2020 may have passed us by, so looks like we’ll have to pack twice the amount of fun into 2021? We’ll see you there!”
