Post Rome - Different Kids

Sunderland trio Post Rome kick 2020 off with a bang in the form of new single Different Kids.

A very heavy introduction is a huge surprise before a poppy, New Order-esque, chorus rattles the eardrums, setting the listener up for a very enjoyable, summery bop. The verse ensues with a vocal delivery straight from a Keane tune, detailing the memories and hopefulness of the past. Jamie’s drums are particularly prominent in Different Kids, driving the tune along through the suburbs of Sunderland, whilst Jasper and Ben’s bass and lead guitar, respectfully, hang out of the window, adding a gleeful contrast.

Another huge chorus kicks in, reminding the listener what Post Rome do well, injecting some 1980s flavour into a modern-indie banger. The second verse has great The Cure qualities with the addition of a vocal-delay and lead singer: Jasper switching up the melody perfectly.
