Rising singer-songwriter ROSIE has perfectly embodied the struggles of heartbreak on her newest release ‘to get over you’.
The track opens with ROSIE’s delicate vocals layered over a velvety piano melody - later exploding into ‘to get over you’ a singalong bop. Despite the lyrics clearly focusing on the frustration that one finds when not being able to get over someone, the instrumental backing is truly up-beat. The pairing of these two stark-opposite vibes cleverly creates a heart-felt break up song with a cool, chic and catchy edge.
Speaking on the lyricism, she explains: “to get over you’ is about the ups and downs of healing from heartbreak,” she says. “As the 4th track from my concept E.P. about the 5 stages of grief, this song represents the 3rd stage, bargaining”.
The construction of ROSIE’s forthcoming EP demonstrates that Rosie isn’t simply writing nonchalant music, she is cultivating her musical exhibition. The idea that each song on the EP. focuses on a stage of grief is a breathtaking idea and makes you really excited to hear the next one.
