Liverpool art-rock quartet Seatbelts return with another slice of psychedelic infused indie-rock in the form of new single Sinful City.
The track sees the band further their exploration of big city living, touching upon the themes of capitalism and modernisation which have become familiar throughout their work. Looping bass and urging beat add to the sense of urgency in frontman James Madden’s vocals, “A lifestyle on constant trial… Despair and desperation takes hope” he sings of the loss of a sense of self in the city.
Seatbelts’ sound continues to grow throughout these releases, shifting into a retro feeling dream-pop vibe with Sinful City. That said, they never fail to lose the Liverpool tinge which gives them their edge.
